About Lairg Holidays

Whether you are planning a relaxing break or an adventurous action pack trip, Lairg Holidays can offer you a range of comfortable, reasonably priced self catering cottages.
We currently have three houses and 1 apartment situated in the Highland village of Lairg available for
2013.

About Lairg:

The village of Lairg has a population of approximately
800 and is an idyllic base for touring the Highlands and
Islands.  The village offers the following features:

Loch Shin and Little Loch Shin - excellent fishing loch
which stretches for 18 miles into the rugged heart of
Sutherland.

Lairg Dam and Power  Station on Loch Shin - the
furthest north dam and hydro electric scheme built
between 1954-58.

Ord Hill  - overlooking the village and loch with its
archaeological trail and ancient burial chambers going
back 6,000 years

Rare Highland wildlife, including - otters, pine martins
wild cats, many  varieties of deer, assorted waterfowl,
red and black throated divers, birds of prey and unusual
species of plant life.

Forest walks and waterfalls - with the well known
dramatic Shin Falls and salmon leap only five miles distance from the village.

In Lairg you can still see evidence of life in bygone days,
savour the fresh Highland air, drive on quiet moorland
roads, enjoy uncluttered, wide open views of spectacular
scenery, majestic mountains and sunsets that take your
breath away.
